More than just transport: Aventeon and Mindset Consulting are launching a flexible ‘digital Swiss Army knife’ for last-mile delivery on the German market.

The “Logistics1” software solution is revolutionising customer service right on the doorstep and transforming logistics companies into strategic service partners.

Today, some logistics customers want far more than just transport to the kerbside; they expect excellent service provided directly by drivers on site. Whether it’s the professional installation of a delivered washing machine on the third floor, including card payment and photographic documentation, or the delivery of highly sensitive prosthetics directly to the operating theatre: the so-called ‘last service mile’ for demanding transport orders is complex, bespoke and is often underestimated by logistics companies. However, those who master these processes precisely evolve from mere transport providers into indispensable service partners.

“Such service processes help logistics companies to specialise and stand out from the competition,” explains Frank Kindt, who has been firmly rooted in the logistics sector for over 25 years. To realise this added value, however, one crucial enabler is required: Intelligent software that guides drivers on site, step by step, through the individual service phases.

It is precisely these complex processes that Frank Kindt specialises in with his Dutch IT company, Aventeon. The solution is called “Logistics1”, a piece of software that runs on a handy mobile device and guides drivers completely paperlessly through the last mile. The system provides the delivery driver with all the necessary tools ‘just in time’: From providing assembly documents, through digital payment functions and photographic documentation of transport damage, right through to upselling options directly at the front door, such as the spontaneous sale of a suitable floor tray for protection.

“The entire process is covered by our ‘Logistics1’ software,” says Kindt. “It’s a sort of digital Swiss Army knife for on-site delivery staff, which also transmits real-time status reports to the transport company and its customers.”

The software has a wide range of applications. In addition to traditional two-man handling, the system has proven its worth in high-tech and service logistics, as well as in construction site and rental logistics. Aventeon’s customers therefore use ‘Logistics1’ not only for traditional consumer goods, but also for highly specialised tasks, such as the transport of construction machinery to complex building sites or deliveries to companies with a strong focus on sustainability.

This enormous flexibility has also impressed Kent Sjödal. The managing director of the IT consultancy Mindset Consulting UG, based in Kamp-Lintfort, recently entered into a strategic partnership with Aventeon alongside his team, with the aim of establishing “Logistics1” specifically in the German market.

“Our partnership focuses on markets with highly complex requirements,” emphasises Kent Sjödal. “The device, combined with the ‘Logistics1’ software, can help our customers successfully enter the highly attractive market of service-intensive last-mile delivery.”

A major technical advantage of the solution lies in its connectivity: the software can be integrated directly with existing business software, such as the CarLo transport management system.

Dispatchers can therefore control and monitor the entire transport process seamlessly from start to finish, right down to the last mile.

What makes ‘Logistics1’ particularly attractive to IT consultant Sjödal is the underlying principle: the software adapts to the logistics companies’ existing processes – rather than the other way round. This flexibility requires companies to pursue a clear strategic vision. This is where Mindset Consulting’s consultancy services come in. “We work together to analyse the current processes, integrate Logistics1 seamlessly into them and set up the software,” explains Sjödal. “Afterwards, we remain on hand as the companies’ dedicated point of contact for any queries they may have.”
